I might as well explain my absence to the Pevensey Massive seeing as I was
spotted by a couple of forum people today. I went to Shorum and had myself
a fantastic afternoon courtesy of the Baker Academy. What a top bloke and
a very, very patient coach. His task was to cajole a complete jesse to
sheet in and go round the front. I'd say we got to a refusal at the second
fence, but the fact that I made the first was progress and my body got
thrown around more than was healthy. Shoreham was beautiful today in the
sun and it was perfect 5m weather for me, so quite windy. It wasn't wavey,
but that suited me and the conditions were perfect for a bit of coaching.
I would have enjoyed normal freesailing there (which I did for about an
hour before packing up), but it wouldn't have been mega interesting - yet
having Ant sail along with you feels very indulgent and it gives you
something to do and try other than sailing up and down. I'd highly
recommend anyone who could get to Shoreham easily to have a go with a bit
of coaching. I'll be back for sure - thanks Ant.
All in all, I'm very glad I did the bunk. Now got to try to hide the tan
tomorrow. My body has virtually siezed up now though as it's my first
proper sail since December.
